VICE PRESIDENT (MINISTRIES)

The office of the Vice President (Ministries) is responsible for the development of evangelism and ministry programmes that align with the mission, vision and goals of the Convention to develop the spiritual growth of congregants to bring transformation within the community and the world.

Christian Education and Auxiliaries Department

The Department is responsible for the development of Christian education and faith development programmes to promote church development, discipleship training. The Department leads in the design and establishment of effective and comprehensive Christian educational curriculum and programmes.

The Department has oversight responsibility for the following Auxiliaries and function:

  • Women’s Missionary Union
  • Men’s Ministry
  • NUBS and Youth Ministry
  • Children’s Ministry
  • Student Ministry

All these auxiliaries have National Coordinators who coordinate their programs and activities and report to a Director.

  1. Women’s Missionary Union (WMU):
    This is the Women’s ministry of the Ghana Baptist Convention.  WMU plan, develop and implement programmes/activities that will encourage and equip women to participate in personal evangelism, discipleship and investing in global ministry.
  2. Men’s Ministry:
    This is the Men’s ministry of the Ghana Baptist Convention. The ministry implement policies and programs that will build an effective Men’s Ministry, involved in missions and discipleship.
  3. NUBS and Youth Ministry:
    This is the Students and Youth Ministry of the Ghana Baptist Convention. The ministry implement policies and programs to build an effective ministry that is  involved in missions and discipleship.
  4. Children’s Ministry:
    This is the Children’s ministry of the Ghana Baptist Convention. The ministry promotes scripture reading/memorizing, prayer and personal Bible study among the Children.

Evangelism & Missions Department

The Department developments evangelism & mission programmes, plant churches and ensures active participation of all Member Churches to bring all categories of people to Christ and the Convention.

  • Programmes Officer:
    The Programmes Officer oversees the organisation and implementation of evangelism and mission programmes to bring all categories of people to Christ and the Convention.
  • Home Missionaries:
    They preach and take the gospel to communities to achieve the soul winning and church planting objective of the Convention. The mission fields are Nzema, Navorongo-Sandema, Yendi, Sefwi and North Volta.
  • Evangelists:
    They preach the gospel and monitor the activities of the Cine Van Ministry to achieve the soul winning and church planting objective of the Convention. There are evangelists in all the four Sectors within the Convention

Sectors Heads

The Sectors Heads have responsibility for monitoring the programmes, activities and evaluation of performance of the Associations and Association Heads to ensure active presence of the church in the communities, win souls and bring all categories of people to Christ and the Convention. Their scope of work includes monitoring to ensure compliance to all policies and procedures of the Convention within the Sectors.

Ministers’ Conference

It is the umbrella body for all Ministers of the gospel of Foreign missionaries with ministerial experience recognized by the Ghana Baptist Convention. The Conference has under it jurisdiction, the Association of Baptist Deacons (work in progress), Ministers’ Wives Fellowship and various Local Ministers’ Fellowships.
