EASTER MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT – GHANA BAPTIST CONVENTION

This weekend marks the celebration of Easter, a period on the Christian Calendar, where believers across the globe remember and commemorate the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It signifies a reminder of the priceless sacrifice Christ made to bring hope and Salvation to the world. Beloved, in Christ, there is hope for a better future.

This year’s Easter is being celebrated in most places amid the challenges posed by the global pandemic, COVID-19, which has caused lockdown restrictions making it impossible for Christians in many places including Ghana, to meet together as we would have loved to.

Although churches are celebrating Easter physically apart, we are united spiritually in faith reflecting on the message of the season

We bear with all of our churches, institutions and affiliate bodies, considering the difficulties and challenges the COVID-19 has brought to us. We know things are not easy for us all, but let us continue to keep faith in the Lord. In Ps 23:4, the Psalmist says “Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for You are with me: Your rod and Your staff – they comfort me.” There is no reason for us to doubt the hand of God to deliver us from this pandemic. God also promises us in Isaiah 43:2 that He will be with us when we pass through the waters, the rivers and the fires. Deliverance is on its way, “He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness and broke away their chains” Ps 107:14 (NIV).

May the celebration of the Easter remind us of the power of the blood of Jesus that was shared on Calvary. The blood is effectual in all circumstances Heb 12:24. Our hope is that the work of Christ on Calvary 2000 years ago is speaking for us in the midst of the current global situation.

Let us continue to observe all the necessary hygiene and social distancing protocols. Let us obey the directives of the President of the Republic. Our God will certainly see us through this challenging time.

Have a happy Easter.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
GOD BLESS THE GHANA BAPTIST CONVENTION.
