NBCA and Ghana Baptist Convention Reach A Tentative Agreement
Over the past couple of days historic meetings have taken place in Houston, Texas between the National Baptist Convention of America (NBCA) President, Rev. Samuel C. Tolbert, Jr., Rev. Dennis Jones (Secretary/Treasurer of the Foreign Mission Board) and Rev. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, President of the Ghana Baptist Convention.
In this meeting, discussions were had surrounding the development of a unique partnership that would allow for the re-opening of the E. Edward Jones School in Ghana, West Africa, along with other exciting initiatives in the future. We are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement has been reached for the re-opening of the E. Edwards Jones School. More details will be forthcoming after the agreement has been finalized.President Tolbert and Rev. Jones also look forward to visiting Ghana soon to finalize the Ghana Baptist University College Campus in our facility in Offinso, Ghana, West Africa. Currently, NBCA operates a hospital in Ghana, West Africa that treated thousands of patients last year and NBCA also pays approximately 30 pastor’s salaries in Ghana.
The NBCA are in talks to have Rev. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi or a GBC Representative as a speaker during their Annual Session in 2016. Rev. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi is a graduate of the University of Professional Studies, Legon, Maranatha University College and has a Master of Divinity in Christian Education from the Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. He is currently a Doctor of Ministry Degree candidate at the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, Virginia, majoring in Justice and Peace Building.
We thank God for both Convention’s obedience in being led to initiate such an historic meeting. It is our prayer for the leadership of these conventions that God will continue to grant them His wisdom to know His Will and His guidance to show them the pathway to fulfilling it, for His glory.
