Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi currently serves in the following capacities:
- Executive President of the Ghana Baptist Convention
- Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana
- Vice President of the Baptist World Alliance
- Chancellor of the Ghana Baptist University College
Rev. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi is a native of Donyina in the Ashanti Region of Ghana and the third of three siblings. Rev. Adu-Gyamfi started school at the Amankwatia LA primary and middle school in 1960. He then went to Konongo Secondary school for a year before moving to Kumasi Academy in 1969. He is a graduate of the University of Professional Studies, Legon, Maranatha University College and the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmon,d, Virginia USA with a Master of Divinity, Christian Education major degree. He is currently a Doctor of Ministry Degree candidate at the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, Virginia, USA majoring in Justice and Peacebuilding.
Rev. Adu-Gyamfi worked for ten years (1978 -1988) as a corporate accountant and for seventeen years (1988-2005) as the CEO of Multi-Media Technology Limited. Rev. Adu-Gyamfi served for ten years (1990 -2000) as the Chair of the Human Resource Committee of the Ghana Baptist Convention, for two years (1998-2000) as Vice President and for five years (2001-2006) as the President of the National Ministers’ Conference of the Ghana Baptist Convention. He also served for six years (2000-2006) as the Chair of the Ghana Baptist Convention’s International Mission Committee supervising the Convention’s Church planting work in Europe and the USA. Between 2002 and 2007 he was a member of the Executive Council of the Christian Council of Ghana. He also served as the President of the Ghana Association of Record Manufacturers (GARM) from 1999 until 2005. Until his new appointment as the Executive President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, Rev. Adu-Gyamfi was the Senior Pastor of the Charismatic Baptist Church in Taifa, Accra, Ghana for twenty five years (1988 to 2013). Rev. Adu-Gyamfi is the first Vice President of the Association of Baptist Business Executives (ABBEX) Accra Chapter. Rev Adu-Gyamfi is one of the twelve elected Vice Presidents of the Baptist World Alliance. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana.
Rev. Adu-Gyamfi served as the Minister of Mission of the First African Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia USA and as chaplain intern at the Sheltering Arms Hospital in Mechanicsville, Virginia, USA while pursuing his Master’s degree at the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.
Through the ministry of Rev. Adu-Gyamfi the Lord has planted five Baptist Churches (Buokrom in Kumasi, Charismatic at Taifa, Liberty at Ofankor, Living Streams at Atomic, Accra and Charismatic Baptist Mission, North Taifa and two campus Christian fellowships at Kumasi Academy and the University of Professional Studies (UPS, Accra). He is a founding member of the evangelical Music Ministry, The New Creation in Kumasi. He was a member of Joyful Way Incorporated and a strong member of Scripture Union and the Bible Society of Ghana.
Rev. Adu-Gyamfi is married to Mrs. Juliana Gyanwa Adu-Gyamfi. They are blessed with three children Bernard, Francis, and Amanda.
